Water, water everywhere.

I can’t even take pictures of this. There are major cracks in the cast iron waste pipe up and down the house and there’s water gushing out from the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd floors. Luckily, I can still use the toilet on the 1st floor, but no bath for a couple of days while they fix it up. It’s pretty intense. This is an example of the principle that once you start messing with anything in an old house, everything that touches it starts to fall apart. Sigh.

Oh my goodness, I hope it gets fixed in a hurry!! That would terrify me.

Here’s hoping there’s not too much lasting damage. I’m so sorry. 😦

Well, now it’s done. And I expect I’ll never have to do any plumbing stuff ever again — they changed it all the way to the sewer line — brand new plastic. So 21st century!
