Day Three (Thursday, Thanksgiving)

26 Nov

I had a very civilized evening Thanksgiving meal with friends — no one there was related or under 40. Thus, there were no fights, slights, or frenzies. It was vegetarian and delightful. During the day, therefore, I had plenty of time to keep on keepin’ on in the kitchen. I’m nearly done! Just need to paint the trim around the doors and window (hoping to find paint in the cellar that I can use) and touch up the ceiling in a few spots.

Here’s how it’s looking:

Very nice. I love the idea of yellow –we had a sunny yellow kitchen in the apartment where I grew up— but it is so hard to get the shade right.

This is a great kitchen, Erica!! I think you made the right choice painting that brick white, and I love the dark ceiling.

I bet it feels like a whole new room with the fresh paint, yeah?

Thanks! I love it — everything seems so clean and fresh with the new paint. Especially the formerly grungy brick wall. I love your kitchen and look forward to seeing what you do next (I highly recommend the black ceiling effect!)
