Pocket door one — rough sanded (one side)

23 Sep

After monumental procrastination, I did indeed finish rough sanding side one of door one. Boy was that messy work. I did find a mask and goggles, so I wasn’t nauseous or blinded from the sand dust.

The doors look better in the photos than in real life. The close-up of the corner of molding shows a better picture of the annoying additional paint removal needed. Eh.

Next up, vacuuming all the dust. Then I need the Dremel and maybe a razor blade to get into the nooks and crannies of the molding. Wipe it all down with mineral spirits and steel wool, and lastly a finish sand with finer grit paper and a final mineral spirits wipe down.

Erica, I don’t know how you are able to stand it. I hate stripping paint maybe worse than anything in the world. Good job.

Yeah, I hate it. I keep putting off finishing the doors, but am hoping to have a wave of action this weekend and git ’em done.
